千岛湖站坐落于淳安县千岛湖西北库湾，于2021年3月26日挂牌成立。研究站占地面积15亩，建有国内首个淡水浮游生物多样性体验馆。作为中国科学院首个水库类型野外站，千岛湖站也是全国首个以“饮用水源型深水水库”为唯一观测研究对象的野外站。围绕“气候变化与人工调度如何驱动深水水库物理结构演变、生源要素循环、藻类水华发生及水源地水质安全”这一核心科学问题，设立了水库物理过程与环境效应、生态系统演变与生物调控、污染物行为与水质安全、流域过程与水资源保障四个研究方向。获批中国科学院院级野外科学观测研究站，标志着千岛湖站正式纳入中国科学院野外站管理体系。未来，千岛湖站将聚焦深水水库生态系统的核心观测任务，全面升级“流域—库区—坝前”立体监测网络。同时，科研团队将围绕热分层演变、生源要素循环及水华预警等关键科学问题，持续积累长序列标准化数据，构建开放共享的数据产品体系。
